Architects of a New Dawn

We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

An email I recieved from a client/friend

Hi Chris –

Thought you might enjoy this. Elihu, my now 6 year old son and I lay together in bed occasionally and just talk - in the morning and at night. Yesterday he had an idea. It went something like this: "I have an idea. Love is not matter. It has no mass. So you can't have more or less of it. It just is. Love is IS. And it IS all at the same time. Is is always and everywhere."
So there! wow.

Union

He /She

She has seen into society

knows it for the sham it has forever been.

Drifting apart from her community

Setting on rocks at the edge of the deep,

Gazing off into the haze cloaked sea;

She wonders what life looks like ... afar.

He comes to conclude

Having been a history student these many years,

That Homo sapiens is a failed experiment.

Ascends often to mountain tops; lofty peaks.

Spends days looking up into… Continue

The Talking Stick

In recent headlines there’s been a momentary round of hysteria about the congressman who inadvertently (or perhaps with denied intention) blurted out the words “You lie!” in the midst of a Presidential speech. Although this incident was sized upon by media and fellow members of the political establishment (with a desired resultant “shaming” of the “socially… Continue

Sacred Dance

E’camotmowat

Sanctuary

The power of the dance is universal, both in time and place. It is confined to no one nation, no period of ancient or modern history, and no strata of human culture. When combined with the sacred sound, a vibration of thought that’s realized and expressed as the “Song of Creation,” it becomes something of a paradox... an oppositional force that straightforwardly expresses its own… Continue

The BlessingWay

The BlessingWay

In the beautiful language of the Diné, “Hózhó jí” means “The Blessingway”. There are a multitude of chants that the People use for a variety of functions, but the most common and universal chant ritual sung over a person or location is the Hózhó jí... the call for blessings, the call “for good hope”.

The Blessingway is the most esteemed of Navajo practices (taking precedent over all of the other… Continue

Frog Medicine

Latest blog if anyone is interested :)

http://lightingtheseventhfire.blogspot.com/

One of the more engaging families that has set up residency at the waterhole is a small and demure colony of frogs... gentle little creatures who busy themselves with sunning on lily pads or having a nosh on the banks of the pond, snatched morsels made up of inattentive insects and newly emerging plant… Continue

Medicine Wheel & Sacred Hoop

Back in the 60s Donovan had a song about happiness, and he observed that; "Happiness runs in a circular motion, everybody is a part of everything..." Native American, African and Eastern philosophers & spiritual masters had long recognized the circle of life, and perceived it as the same circular motion... a circle of joy, a circle of happiness. Only western man, the Europeans, were given to linear thought... and because of their failure to realize the interconnectedness of all things,… Continue

Ancestors Surround Us: A reverie...

Within the heavens, Lord Brihaspati, god of wisdom and eloquence, god of Jupiter and protector of the devas, rides his celestial body down from the sky and over the western horizon. Fair Shukra, also known as Venus, pure and clear, god of water, god of semen, follows in pursuit. The universe, a clock of unrestricted proportions, ticks forward, elapsing time, dissolving and reforming its material constitution.

Ageless spirits in non-corporeal buckskin, bone, and feathers cross over… Continue
