Architects of a New Dawn

We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

What are you listening to? A music discussion of the music you are enjoying lately.

I just listened to some very beautiful music from Mali on Link TV's World Music program. I can't figure out who it was by or where to buy it though.

Rumi: Say I Am You

I listen to silence as my default music.
Hey people.

I have some of my YouTube stuff up. Of late I've been going back to the good old soul of the '70s. Al Green and James Brown (esp. "Please, Please, Please!"), have been way up there. I've been missing my mom who passed away in '80 and this stuff reminds me of the great romantic and idealist, and spiritualist that she was.

Marinspin: From West Africa I would recommend Baaba Maal (Senegal), and the awesome master of JuJu music King Sunny Ade ("Ja Funmi"), and the notorious Fela A. Kuti (RIP). You can see them "live" on YouTube. I actually have a documentary of the socio-politician Kuti on my widget.

Peace,
Mike
