I agree that Michael was much more than a pop star - Just listen to "The Man In The Mirror". He knew the truth. And the man could dance couldn't he? What grace and fluidity - I loved to watch him dance. He will be missed by all who saw his true gifts and I send healing light and peace to his family and close circle, that they may carry his love with them in their hearts. He was too young to leave us, but he will know peace and light now, and he'll be singing with the angels.

In Bahia and other slums, they're making instruments out of recycled items and doing amazing music. The kids are getting to travel around with the band, getting a sense of who they are, and what they can accomplish through music.

Hi Marcelle. Good on you for working with the kids, introducing them to music. Did you see that special on PBS last night about music and the brain? Very cool program that helped explain how important music is for our development.It's important to be a music maker, more than being a music listener.

I so agree, Dr. Mike. Living on the Central Coast, we were barraged with media coverage of the negative stuff. Michael was a gentle soul with a huge heart. He shared so much with us, touching people everywhere. He's got an even bigger audience now, and I'm sure they're digging it.

I wanted to be one of the first to acknowledge the genius and legacy of that gentle, loving giant Michael Jackson. I am happy people, in general, are focusing on his great prolific gift, and humanitarianism, rather than the negative trials and tribulations that he experienced.

"Human Nature" was a song that helped me in difficult teenage years get to get through shit. I could relate just to wanting to be out of the house and just living. (And I still do, at age 41)
"Man in the Mirror" speaks for itself.

His work is vast. And though the "King of Pop" he really did have some profound things to say about humanity.

I JUST JOINED TODAY. I HOPE ALL OF US CAN STAY IN TOUCH AND CREATE THE TRUE VISION OF AOAND!! JUST LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN HELP AS AS ARTIST AND A COMMUNITY WORKER WORKING WITH "HIGH RISK" TEENAGERS IN THE RURAL DISTRICT ON THE "BIG ISLAND" OF HAWAII. MY DISTRICT IS CALLED "PUNA". WE HAVE A SERIOUS POVERTY LEVEL AND "METH" PROBLEM. SO MY WORK WITH THE TEENAGERS USING INTERACTIVE DRUMMING IS MY WAY OF HELPING THE COMMUNITY. THE DRUMMING HELPS THE TEENAGERS CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER IN A MORE POSITIVE WAY, AND THE TEENAGERS SELF ESTEEM IS BOOSTED. IT GIVES THEM A POSITIVE AND CREATIVE WAY TO LET GO OF ALL THOSE FRUSTRATIONS AND ENERGY.
