Architects of a New Dawn

We’d like to show the side of the world you don’t normally see on television.

What a speech!!

I congratulate all Americans on this historic day. At times like these I wish I could be part of the American dream, to be motivated and inspired in this way. May America play a leading role in the awakening of a new dawn. I have no doubt that nothing is impossible for an inspired and committed nation.

To your success!

Bill your psychic abilities must be finally kicking in. You guessed I was done pretending to have any kind of dialog with you.

Please come visit some time. Everyone in my little town would just love to meet yah. We don't get to meet or talk to political conservatives very often out here in liberal West Marin because the crusty old Ranchers won't talk politics with us and the Coast Guard is scared to death of all the dang old hippies living around here so they keep to themselves mostly. I hope you can run fast if any of the locals decide to marinate you in red wine and serve you up along side some goat meat in our new Italian restaurant.

I thought you might enjoy this video.

It's my yoga teacher's video and it contains more then one important message so listen carefully. He performed at the democratic convention after Obama invited him to perform. If you come visit I will take you to a yoga class with me. Yoga can loosen even the most rigid brain.
It's okay, I respect you for sticking to your beliefs. I watched the video. It's very well done. Though I'm not a rap fan, it's easy to see it's appeal on younger people. However all it did for me was to reinforce my perception of Obama as a kind of pied piper, that say nothing more elequently that anyone I've ever heard before. The artist/rapper yoga instructer mentions at one point about being addicted to oil. Well....He should immediately stop using all pertolium products. As a matter of fact so should all the people that subscribe to this philosophy.

Start today. STOP using gasoline, fuel oil, motor oil, lubricants, grease, plastics of any kind. ( that includes the computer your sitting in front of right now) If you have any conscience at you should immediately STOP purchasing any product packaged in pastic. That includes food, clothing etc. Stand up for what you believe in, and STOP pruchasing any product delivered to any establishment that uses fuel oil for heat, and is delivered in vehicle that uses Deisel fuel, or gasoline. STOP being a hypocrite today, and get a bicycle..........wait a minute! Bicycles have plastic parts too. I guess you'll have to walk, naked, hungry, and barefooted to the next yoga meeting. Hang on, the meeting isn't held in a heated building, is it?

Thanks for the invitation.

We actually have yoga classes in a barn out here in rural Californina. Since my yoga teacher started producing nationwide commercials for Starbucks

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fom57XAEYWI (his best work of art is Elephant Power http://mcyogi.com/ )

he never uses gasoline any more and fuels his vehicle with Caffè Americano only. Last time I made it to class he was almost naked and only wearing a pair of skimpy shorts. Not quite a loin cloth but almost. Does that qualify as naked? I noticed he did have some plastic covering the back of his car where the window was suppose to be. I will have to speak with him about that.

I don't buy any Starbucks coffee myself and don't even drink coffee. I occasionally use it for a reverse latte. Of course I only use organic fair trade coffee.
Marinspin.......Believe it or not, I do have some very liberal views as well that may even surprise you. I was even a hippie back in the old days. I am one of only a half million people that can say they were at Woodstock back in 69. There I've gone and dated myself.

As for marinating, and serving me as a side dish, I thought "you people" were all vegitarians. Sorry, I just couldn't resist that. I do have a sense of humor, albeit a wicked one.....and as far as running goes......I don't run from anyone, not even the cyber police. I'm glad to see you have a sense of humor as well. You're a good sport Mainspring.

Bill 411 my name is Marinspin not Spring Summer Fall and Winter. That is the name of a movie.

I have not consumed goat since we voted to barbecued Buckwheat at boarding school after had caused enough chaos to warrant it.

I did attend Altamont. I was still in High School at the time so we lied and told our parents we had a ride and hitch hiked there.
I share your sense of wonder & hope thru the election of Obama. As a Canadian, I recognize Trudeau's exclamation of "...sleeping with the elephant..." can be a pleasant & exciting experience. Obama leads a global optimism which heralds a new dawn & perhaps he'll share this forum in more than spirit at some point. Certainly he shares the philosophy. Pax Carol
Altamont...Now that was a moment in American pop culture.

It was certainly a moment. I remember much more about everything I consumed that day then I do about the music. I was sitting way in the back with some guys from my High School. I kind of remember the Stones playing and Crosby Stills Nash and Young but that is about it and I had no idea anyone was killed until I was back home. I do remember having good time.
Marinspin.......Altamont was sadly the hippie's swan song. I remember everything was different after that. The vibe and synergy that the whole Woodstock deal created, seemed to disipate quickly after that....with the possible exception of Marin county that is.

It's good to see Marinspin and Bill communicating. Hopefully this page can do that for many people. I am ignorant on the Altamont situation. Looks like I'll have to do research on that one.
Damn, I just read about the altercation. But I have been friends with a few bikers over the years, and they would probably tell you the same thing. Self defense. There is too much word of mouth on the subject. But when there are that many people gathered, things like this can happen anywhere. Individuals are smart, crowds are usually brought down a level, because of the mob mentality. I have seen bottles thrown, cigarettes flicked at the opening acts, etc. Hell, I've even yelled at first act people and told them to get off the stage, back when I was younger, and didn't realize how hard it is to perform. but I think that could have happened anywhere. Jim Morrison was known for his Riot psychology techniques at a show, and he would get whole crowds to follow him around and take off clothes, and other various things. So the fact that a man was stabbed at a concert involving the Hells Angels, and a guy with a gun doesn't surprise me. Sorry, just being blunt. People were drunk, stoned, tripping, hell that sounds about right.
