~*~ Dear Go Green Living Devotees!,
I live in Alcoa,Tennessee.... Just south of Knoxville,TN.
I'm so grateful that even in this small town, they've have a great curbside recycling program w/ a truck w/ segregated ompartments! Recently, they got a new system... everything gets mixed together in the truck, mashed, & taken to a special plant for seperation! & they taken almost everything! It takes me a month to even have x1 tall kitchen bag of garbage since I recycle EVERY scrap
of anything recyclable!... no matter how large or small! I give a neighbor all aluminum stuff which he collects untill he has enuf to make a little $. He also curbdives for scrap metals & does the same. So he gives me clothes & house hold goods & furniture... I donate to underprivliged & I find scrap metals for him... thus rescueing all that good stuff people just put on the curb from going into landfills! I encourage ya'll to do the same & inspire others to do as well!

I just got through watching a brilliant inspired inspiring film - Julian Lennon's Whaledreamers and there is a website whaledreamers.com
Showing it is also a fundraiser for indigenious people. In joy, Ron

All things share the same breath - the beast, the tree, the man, the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports. -Chief Seattle

I presented the article below at a green gathering last night with show and tell veggie oil and algae - both of which I demonstrated was biodegradable by tasting them. Also great news in newspaper this AM about giving permits to build wind farms at least 3 miles out in the ocean on the Continental Shelf - remember in past few years, the Repukes were trying to get permits to put fossil fuel pumping stations out there, even though the scientists say there is no hope of oil off of S.C. coast.
Bad news - 41 homes burned in Barefoot Landing (about ten miles from here) this morning on other side of ICW - the ashes and smoke is so bad that I am wearing mask and my eyes are itching - that smoke even creeps into a closed house. Let's pray that they stop it today - the wind has died down and helicopters are getting water from the ocean with big soft fabric dippers and taking it to the fire.

Let's take small and easy steps to green living:
grow your own sprouts... it takes almost no maintenance, and very little attention.
Eating your own miniature garden sprouts can be life changing,
and the beginning of a bigger garden, and contributing to a greener planet.

"Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting;
The soul that rises with us, our life's star,
Hath had elsewhere it's setting, and cometh from afar;
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come.
From God, who is our home."

H.R. 875: Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009
This is basically a Criminization of Organic and Home Farming!

There is an enormous rush to get this into law within the next 2 weeks before people realize what is happening. Main backer and lobbyist is (guess who) Monsanto.

Bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and poisonous insect sprays dictated by the newly formed agency to "make sure there is no danger to the public food supply".

This will include backyard gardens that grow food only for a family and not for sales. Call your congress person, tell them they can give away trillions to banks but they can't make us eat poisoned food! GROW YOUR OWN will be taking on a whole new meaning.

There are still many places, where you can stand and smell the pine in the air, and look out into the vastness, and see What a great creation, OUR planet is !!
