Hey Ron! Great post. I took a remarkable shapeshifting and firewalking workshop down in Georgia a few years back.

And what a wonderful quote. I did a podcast on this very subject a few years back

Best of luck with your efforts to get the meditation techniques into the prisons. If any place on the planet needed a greater level of peace and mindfulness - it's got to be our prisons.

Peace & Blessings

I have just returned from a ten day Vispassana Meditation Retreat - possibly the best thing I have ever done...check out "The Dhamma Brothers" documentary (and I am sure you have!). It is a fairly new center down in Georgia, these Onederful Vispassana Meditators are making a paradise out of a hot marshy Southern rural area. and it is going well, and I expect to help getting it into prison system here in S.C. There is no more of a sacred place than where an ancient hatred has been turned into a present love. (ACIM) May all beings be happy, ron

WORD FOR THE DAY
Sunday, Aug. 2 (gratefulness.org)

Holiness comes wrapped in the ordinary.
There are burning bushes all around you.
Every tree is full of angels.
Hidden beauty is waiting in every crumb.

Ah! I love that quote by Chomsky - thank you for posting it!

"Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, it's unlikely you will step up and take responsibility for making it so. If you assume that there's no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, there are opportunities to change things, there is a chance you may contribute to making a better world. The choice is yours."

Marinspin - I'm going to Bhutan next year - but that will be my first visit to any of the "border kingdoms."

What happened in Nepal?

I discovered the divine while staying in Nepal.

Thanks Marcelle - I have some family that lives on Kauai and they're told me about the experience of visiting Mauna Kea - it does indeed sound completely transformative!

Many blessings

THE MOST SPIRITUAL PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN IS ON THE VERY TOP OF MAUNA KEA IN HAWAII, ON THE "BIG ISLAND" IN HILO. MAUNA KEA HAS THE LARGEST TELESCOPES FOR VIEWING STARS, DISCOVERING NEW GALAXIES AND UNIVERSES. AND I HAVE BEEN LIVING IN HAWAII ALL MY LIFE!!

LET'S DIALOGUE,
MARCELLE
