On December 21, 2012 - where will you be?

In this day and age of rapid paced media, I find myself faced with a barrage of doomsday scenarios correlating to the year 2012. If it isn't comets crashing into the planet, the earth shifting on its axis, tidal waves, nuclear war, particle accelerators creating black holes, pandemics, planet X and a morbid assortment of mega disasters, its dire predictions from the Mayan calendar, Nostradamus,
Edgar Cayce, the bible, astrologers, and various religious leaders all telling us to prepare for the end. And have you noticed in recent years how many survival shows are being produced? Survivor Man, Man vs Wild, Survivor, and The Colony just to name a few. Are we being prepared for whats to come? Does our government know something we don't know?

In the year 2009, with the clock ticking ever closer to 2012 I am confused. Are we all on death row and blindly hoping all the signs and predictions are wrong?

These days I feel much like a man who has been diagnosed with cancer and been given less than 3 years to live...I don't know whether to start compiling my bucket list and travel and take one last look at our world, start stocking up on survival supplies, build a safe room or just cross my fingers and believe this Earth will be granted some sort of divine global remission.

I started this topic because I don't believe I am alone in feeling confused about our impending future. With that being said, what do you believe? How will you prepare? Will you prepare?

It is the last sentence of your post, Lance, that I offer humble challenge, and I understand that this is an unattributed quotation: You say: "I will hope for the best because I am not in the position to directly change the course we are on, or I would." The term "hope" implies vanity and some external savior. We are our saviors. We are being called upon to not just hope, but to trust---ourselves. And my sense of it is that we ARE all in positions to directly change the course we are on. We are one, connected. To sidestep the frustration Joan mentions, we are simply challenged to be free of attachment to some kind of immediate gratifying result from our loving actions and intents.

So live and rejoice in the moment. Not my words, but ones I agree with: "Billions around the world experience daily what we are getting ready to experience. I will do all I can to prepare, but I will also make it a point to live and be at peace in the moment, because now is all we have ever had. I will be good to other people, because their suffering is as important as mine. And I will hope for the best because I am not in the position to directly change the course we are on, or I would."

Comment by WindDancer Hunt on November 9, 2009 at 2:18pm: Eara, The Bucket List evolved from somewhat a true story of 2 men that come together who are both dying and decide what they are going to do and experience before passing on. It was turned into a movie by the same name starring Jack Nicholson and the black man who also played GOD in the movie Bruce Almighty. I encourage you to watch it and it definitely is a tear maker.

And that place you want to go to or be in, keep finding it, it can and will happen in a glorious new Time and Space being given to us at /about the year 2012. It's all about choice. There can be extinction or a glorious new life. I see 2012 as our choice to Ascend. All the scarey Aiien stuff is there, if you want to see and be that. No thanks, I choose the Angels and Higher Beings of Light AND ASCENSION!

This group began rooted in fear..(I have stopped hoarding my canned goods lol) this group is so full of love, light and laughter now .. and if it all does come crumbling down .. I hope we all meet on the other side....and now that I gave up my canned goods ...Violette .. bring your thong .. we may need it as a sling shot to hunt wild game lol
