Quote of the Day 6

"There are those who would wish to pick at your credibility steal your value, or forge your identity. Hang on to your integrity and mis behave with dignity." -Margot Datz

A Kinder, Gentler Approach: "The Next Evolution" by Jack Reed

Like many people, I was shocked by the Zeitgeist movie and have been immersed in researching the state of the world, especially its economy, ever since. I was happy to discover that the Venus Project is the solution recommended by the Zeigeist Movement. Although I found Jacque Fresco's futuristic designs… Continue

Daily Quote By Lynn Fishman

LET WHAT IS ON THE INSIDE COME OUT.

There are no prescriptive solutions, no grand designs for grand problems. Life's solutions lie in the minute particulars involving more and more individual people daring to create their own life and art, daring to listen to the voice within their deepest, original nature, and deeper still, the voice within the earth.

Daily Quote By Lynn Fishman

THE CHALLENGE IS FINDING THE VOICE.

"The whole course of human history may depend on a change of heart in one solitary and even humble individual - for it is in the solitary mind and soul of the individual that the battle between good and evil is waged and ultimately won or lost."

Heroes Come In Different Forms

My kitchen floor was full of muddy footprints. At around five-thirty that afternoon, I'd come in from one of the saddest moments of my adult life: burying my best friend – a Maine Coon feline wonder names Lightning -- out in a little flower garden next to the house. In fact, if you were to look through my kitchen window, you could see his grave clearly.

Actually, Lightning came into this world back in 1998 -- and it certainly wasn’t an easy entrance! As a matter of fact, while he was… Continue

Aung San Suu Kyi, nightingale of Love! - Poetry by Elisabetta Errani Emaldi

Aung San Suu Kyi,

nightingale of Love!

Mother of peace who weeps bitter tears

because of the insanity

that inhabits the gilded palaces of power.

White dove in which the warriors of injustice

stole the hope of flying

on the meadows of freedom.

To you I sing a song of love!

To you I play the notes of Liberty!

To you I give the Triumph!

Nightingale of love,

your… Continue

Quote Of The Day By Lynn Fishman

DO NOT RESIST CHANGE. FLUIDITY OF THE MIND IS KEY TO SUCCESSFUL TRANSFORMATION.

Whosoever wishes to know about the world must learn about it in its particular details.

Knowledge is not intelligence.

In searching for the truth be ready for the unexpected.

Change alone is unchanging.

The same road goes both up and down.

The beginning of a circle is also its end.

Not I, but the world says it: all is one.

And yet everything comes in… Continue

Can We Get Off The Merry-Go-Round?

I have been reading and researching the state of the world. Mostly, I focus on the economic system. I have always been fascinated with how money works, like what is it really and why does it have such a hold on us. Since I was a child, I have been trying to understand it, but until very recently, I never really got it.

I have always had an innate belief that something about the world doesn't work for people. Usually, that unhappiness seemed to center around a lack of money, or a lack… Continue

Maslow's "Capacity to Appreciate"

WORD FOR THE DAY
Friday, Jul. 3 (gratefulness.org)

Some people have a wonderful capacity to appreciate
again and again, freshly and naively, the basic goods
of life, with awe, pleasure, wonder, and even ecstasy
.

"Change Your Thinking" It will just take 37 seconds to read this .. please do

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.

One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help

drain the fluid from his lungs..

His bed was next to the room's only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their

involvement in the military service, where they had been… Continue

THE NATURE OF LIFE

THE NATURE OF LIFE

By Mary Cook, M.A., R.A.S.

There is destruction, disease, disaster, and death in this world. It is a natural process, however modern man has greatly accelerated and escalated it. With our larger brains, we have wanted to believe that we could control our planet in accordance with our short sighted, selfish wills. We forgot to consider how our decisions and actions would affect current and future generations on the earth. We neglected to consult our soul, to… Continue

Weekly Tidbit: FInding New Balance

I'm learning HTML, also known as Hypertext Mark-up Language, the predominant language for creating web pages. This is a phenomenal experience for me; computer technology has intimidated me for the longest time. I have always been right brain dominant: intuitive, creative, holistic, artistic, sensitive. I remember being chastised by a friend while playing pinochle when he asked me why I played a certain card and I told him "it felt like the right move". He counted every card and calculated odds… Continue
