My Notebook

There is something about my notebook that I find comforting. The sound of my pencil scratching the words of my soul across the page brings me peace within. I fill it with the stories from my mind, happy, confusing, painful at times, but it doesn’t matter, there are no limits on what I can share within the sacred pages of this book.

The safety provided by my notebook, my objective listener cannot be matched. My notebook does not talk back, judge, invalidate or advise. It allows me to… Continue

Daily Quote By Lynn Fishman

FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCT AND MOVE FORWARD.

“The self-confidence of the warrior is not the self-confidence of the average man. The average man seeks certainty in the eyes of the onlooker and calls that self-confidence. The warrior seeks impeccability in his own eyes and calls that humbleness. The average man is hooked to his fellow men, while the warrior is hooked only to infinity.”

Harnessing the Energies of Love

Harnessing the Energies of Love
WORD FOR THE DAY
Friday, May. 15 (gratefullness.org)

Someday, after we have mastered the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love. Then for the second time in the history of the world, we will have discovered fire.

True Wealth

WORD FOR THE DAY
Thursday, May. 14 (gratefulness.org)

True wealth is not measured in money or status or power. It is measured in the legacy we leave behind for those we love and those we inspire.

experience with gratitude

Dear Friends,

I awakened early with great anxiety. Feelings of loneliness and separation overwhelmed me. Then I remembered to write my gratitude. Start Gratitude, a practice of mental cleansing. All of the heaviness I felt lifted, and suddenly I felt as if I could cope. All of my despair over recent losses and anticipated losses disappeared, with the practice of gratitude....I am grateful for the love in my life; the aloneness...it is a time to develop gratitude and finish projects,… Continue

Thinking about Love... again..

I think about Love – a lot. In fact I’m sure some people wish I would think or talk about something else for awhile. I am trying to change my perception around this word, from what I believe it “should” mean, into knowing it can mean what I choose it to.

Do I limit my potential to love by categorizing it? I believe I do. I mean, if I love you like I love my mom, sisters, dog or iguana, how do I choose who goes into which category? What traits do you have to have before you are worthy… Continue

Weekly Tidbit: The Transformational Power of Gratitude

The use of gratitude as a transformative tool has been known to me since about 1980. Right around the time I got the name "Charly" I also got a lot of new and powerful tools. But having a tool and knowing how to use it can be two very different things; the learning curve was steep and long with this one. Cultivating "an attitude of gratitude" is a challenge if your head is filled with stinking thinking, woulds, coulds, shoulds, oughts and if onlies. To choose the action of writing each… Continue

Waking Up To Hope, Transforming Our Reality One Human Being at a Time

The act of self refinement is an act of magic.

As each of us reaches out with our heart and open up into the Universe, we may feel vulnerable or exposed.

There is truth to our vulnerability, our fragility, but for what we risk we stand to gain something transcendent.

The nature of our individuality in the universe is not simply a matter of ego and identity.

There is the soul's role as a nexus, or intersection of light.

As each of us uses our own ability to… Continue

Recognizing the Ego

‘Whenever you feel superior or inferior to anyone, that’s the ego in you.’

Eckhart Tolle

Tolle presents us with a very simple statement to help us recognize when we are not working with our true self.

To be put another way;

There are 3 different ways to react to a situation; aggressively, assertively and submissively.

Aggressive reactions defend the ego. Submissive reactions deny the true self, and assertive reactions allow you to work from the… Continue

Grateful for Hope

Last week after an afternoon of talking with people who work to free modern day slaves and assist survivors of human trafficking - I made a cup of tea and began watching the last part of a documentary about a tragedy that killed 10,000 children from a rural village in China.

Near tears i understood suddenly why so many people feel overwhelmed by even attempting to pay attention these kind of issues, when so many others come to our… Continue
