Wow everyone! I am sorry I didn't jump into this thread earlier, so much has transpired here. I would like to express my gratitude to all who have contributed, especially my friend Mary Rose. Thank you.

After reading the entire thread, I have a few thoughts I would like to share.

First of all, I am very excited about the possibilities raised here about healing through the arts and media and about shifting consciousness through music and sound. As a life-long musician, songwriter and performer, I have a deep connection to the power of auditory communication and transformation. It lives in me.

The concept of healing through multi-media presentations at specially designed domes (e.g., planetariums, etc.) is really great. Creating edutainment and enlightenment using the power of today's technology is probably its highest and best use. We don't need to sugar coat or market as anything other than what it is - a transformative, life-altering experience. Those who can hear that will come, and more will come than we think.

When I talk with people about the Hearts Of Fire Project and about what is possible for people through the artistic expression of homeless people, everyone gets it. In the 2 plus years that we have been sharing this message, it simply penetrates - no effort, no selling, no marketing. Why? Because the message is about empowering the magnificence of human beings, it is a vision which contains within it space for all points of view.

When we create a powerful video/audio/participative presentation as people have discussed here, and just start showing it at the domes, audiences will come. They will come because all of us are searching, looking for love and connection, we were born that way. All we need is a vehicle that will invite us back to what we intuitively know and feel.

In my work with homeless people, I have learned that they have much to say about the nature of being human and I am committed to bringing their messages to the world. Their contribution is essential to our transition to the new paradigm because those who are most disenfranchised in the old system, have the most to contribute to the new. Consequently, I think a high priority should assigned to the inclusion of these people in any production that we may create.

I am here to help and I hope that I have added something to this brilliant and inspiring discussion.

Bless you, M.R., you've got so much info and once again I say, we've been on different paths but they are converging now with precise divine timing. I agree that big change is here...the specific story of how isn't important, as it will become clear. It is the dawning of the Golden Age, and the perfect balance of male and female energies of All creation...over 950 billion years in the making, unmaking, redoing...hopefully we've got it right this time! I wrote to Dorinne about your excellent Hay House recommendation (Louise Hay's book on healing yourself blew me away when I read it in 1987).

I think Ed IS talking about the ***magic*** of healing entertainment! So good, and yet so educational, it will attract en masse and heal. Like cheese sauce on broccoli, candy flavored medicine for those who would not watch or attend otherwise. And for those already awakened, they get the pure, dark chocolate dose (which by the way: 2 squares of the best quality you can find every day is great for skin, anti-oxidant, mood...on and on Take it earlier in the day so you burn it off and it doesn't affect your sleep. I look forward to it first thing instead of coffee - it makes me want to get out of bed in the morning.) Steph, can't wait to read of Pat's write-up.

Thank you, Ed! I had no idea...but I will check your site out. Yes, I have ideas! And I agree with Mary Rose...Harmony Channel sounds awesome, and you were probably just ahead of your time then...but not now!

Coleen, the only way to address the challenge with bi-polar disorder is to design a whole new system to replace the county, state and federally-funded programs with something entirely new. And i am planning on doing that with the assistance of my mentor of many years, Dr.V. Vernon Woolf, Founder of Holodynamics, and hopefully Pat Flanagan as well.

I am also designing a program entitled Moving into; TOTAL WELLNESS which my organization Future Dawning will be promoting. I have been working for about 14 months or so to identify those who are at the top in their field of endeavor in the health, sustainable living, human consciousness and women's movement. And to identify and link up with those in the media - edutainment field who are best situated to aid in disseminating the information to the far corners of the world And here we are and so it is. And this is awesome.

With love and appreciation to everyone for their participation. We are all needed and have a role to play -- and sometimes that role may be a negative one -- but negatives need not remain negatives and can always be transformed if the intent is there.

First of all, i would like to tell Dorinne that IMHO, the best place to go to get a book on healing published today, is at Hay House. Louise Hay is herself a highly-recognized healer having healed herself naturally from cancer. And she has three of the hottest personalities around today in the alternative field with her Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton, and Wayne Dyer. And, i would certainly recommend consulting with both Len Horowitz and Patrick Flanagan, among others, to discover what it is they already know and have accomplished in this area, and find out if what you, Dorinne, known is something new to others, but being applied in a new way.

Ed, i don't feel we should be talking about entertainment today, but education coupled with entertainment in a way that becomes "edutainment". The late and very respected R. Buckminster Fuller saw TV as the best delivery system there is for getting "in-formation" across to the general public. Unfortunately this medium became contaminated by advertising as public relation firms, under the influence of the Edward Bernays a nephew of Sigmund Freud, began to both corrupt and influence this venue using psychology and the lure of monetary gain to do so. A review of Robert Putnam's "Bowling Alone - America's Declining Social Capital provides statistics showing that the decline and breakdown of the American "community" lifestyle began with the advent of television.

My feelings with the Harmony Channel, Ed is that you may have been a bit too early. At the time Paul Ray, Ph.d.and Sherry Ruth Anderson wrote the Culture Creatives, How Fifty Million People Are Changing the World," a new movement, one which was completely spontaneous and leaderless arose out of now where indicating that millions of people in the United States wanted change to a greener and more earth-friendly environment with 60% of them being women.

Then, in 2002, David C. Korten followed up this book with "The Post-Corporate World - Life Beyond Capitalism" after his best-selling documentary book: "When Corporations Rule the World." had brought millions into awareness as to how the corporation was influencing our lifestyles, largely for their benefit and to our detriment.
.
Using different sources than Ray and Anderson, Korten verified and documented what he found to be 150 million people around the world who wanted the same type of change, and he called these people: : "integral culturists".

Then, just this past year, Paul Hawken came out with his book: "Blessed Unrest" in which he asserts that this alternative movement is "the largest movement the world has ever seen." But the problem as to why more people do not know about it is that the mainstream media refuses to report on it. And, the reason being that it threatens the corporate way of making money.

Where the problem lays, as i view it is that we are moving into a new era -- moving from the Industrial Age into the Age of Knowledge, thus everything is up for change. It is predicted that we will see more change in the next few decades than we have seen in the past several thousand years -- perhaps going back even to the Neolithic Age with that age being the time of the Partnership Society when women were still revered and worshiped as Goddesses, and the world was at peace. That is, until this peaceful pastoral society was invaded by both Aryan and Kurgan sheepherders coming from both the North and the South. In what was a massacre at that time, the women were captured and turned into prostitutes and the men were turned into eunuchs and made slaves to their captors. And, ever since this time, peace has not been known again as we entered into what is known as the "dominator paradigm" as women, heart-centered men, people of color, and non-land owners became disenfranchised from the system which continues to this day. And the real problem at this time being that as many of us attempt to move forward into new lifestyles that are more "organic" , those who are still entrenched in the old ways and dependent upon them for income keep pulling us back into the dark hole of yesterday.

But i have felt the energy shift since 2007 as many more people see "the future dawning" and are moving forward to shine their light. And feel the time is right to move forward with projects -- as we know "timing is everything".

What i see working, since we are forced into being an "underground" movement are the house parties where people gather to watch and discuss documentary films -- generally after having partaken of a vegetarian (or vegan or raw food) pot luck. These people who are already part of the choir are then going to make up the majority of those who will turn their TV sets back on and watch Edutainment. And, there is certainly no lack of subject matter for this medium. As well, i believe there is a substantial group of advertisers ready, willing and able to support Edutainment.

I have also been visualizing "Oxytocin Salons" where people get together and "reach out and touch someone" in order to release a lot of these neurotransmitters that act as love and bonding agents between people. The more we touch one another the more oxytocins we release and the more love we engender. And coupled with David Woolf's feel good healthy raw chocolate as something to munch on --- what a way to go!!!!!!

It appears to me that health and wellness is our next big economic focus, but don't be surprised is we are purchasing products with some type of local currency.

Things are a changing. Which is good, because if nothing changes nothing changes.

Until next time. m r

Colleen, I agree that there are many modalities for transformative programming. Harmony Channel had seven: Love Zone - romantic moods, Energy Zone - energizing, Play Zone - fun/party, Harmony Zone - nature/healing, Chill Zone - artsy/edgy/downtempo, Dream Zone - deep ambient, Spirit Zone - uplifting. These were all non-narrative, affective music videos (no cognitive or intellectually stimulating content - "mood videos" if you will). There are other modalities as well. Pop music, classical music/opera and pornography are all examples of mainstream mood-shifting media, each operating on different modalities or levels.

As architects of a new dawn, our job is to see areas that need healing or evolving and craft tools that have the desired effect. Mass media can only be used as a carrier for these vibrations insomuch as people will voluntarily consume or use the programming. People do not generally want to be healed and associate things that are "good for you" with "boring." This of course changes when the pain reaches a crescendo, but evolution is best accomplished voluntarily before the situation gets painful.

I'm always on the lookout for new ways to package media that can transform in ways that are needed most - whether narrative/cognitive or non-narrative/affective or a combination of the two.

A group of us here in Los Angeles are gearing up to make films and TV shows. Check out www.consciouscreatives.com. We're connected with other groups as well who are doing great work, including www.elevatepresents.com. Keep the ideas coming - we'll do our best to incorporate your wisdom into our work as well as collaborate.

If you have specific media or projects to share, please post them in the Discussion Forum above then reference it here on the Comment Wall so we'll know to look for it. Blessings! e

Just a head's up everybody - Pat is writing and I'll have something soon but he has "gotten into it" and it's alittle bigger than proposed. Never-the-less, soon I will be publishing his input. Stay tuned. Steph

Ed, I don't think that entertainment always has to be emotionally provocative. Sometimes, people are very entertained after a stressful day at work with a "mindless comedy" sit-com or movie which calms their nerves and does not require any more emotional or mental output. Laughter always works in those cases! People have varying moods. Sometimes they want to go deep, be moved and cry; sometimes they want to be inspired; sometimes they want to laugh or dance or hear music; sometimes they want to learn; sometimes they want to see something that relates to their own situation and therefore offers some level of comfort; and sometimes they want to be awed and wowed!
