The Human body is a Musical instrument. Our bodies play Music all the time.
I discovered the Cosmic Music of the body a number of years ago. As a result of this my cells are singing the Epiphany of Creation. Unstruck Music is the Music of True Love. Perfect Music is flawless and comes from beyond the Space Time Continuum.

hi Mary Rose... briefly, the Sofeggio scale has yet to be proven to create any significant differences, though many will claim it does. There are a lot of "experts" that are trying to say how essential it is, but I personally am as yet unconvinced. Meanwhile a scientific definition of what healing music is would be a good thing to have. If you google "healing music" the result is millions of pages. With two careers to attend to at present, I don't have time for the research, but I am interested to see what a researcher might come up with. Meanwhile, here is some info from http://www.constancedemby.com/healing.html

THE HEALING POWER OF SOUND

Throughout the ages, sound and music, originally a highly developed science in the ancient mystery schools, have been used as vehicles for healing. This healing was based on concepts of life that recognized vibration as the fundamental creative force.

Sound and Light are the building blocks of the universe, the very framework upon which all of creation is hung. Every molecule of matter is intoning its tone. Every leaf, atom, particle, planet, galaxy, every cell in our body is humming it own tune. Even as we were being born, as our bodies were being formed a chord was being intoned, our own individual chord

Music affects the physical body in profound ways. Sound waves enter into the physical body and move atoms around, rearranging our cellular structure and putting us back in order. Music - in its higher forms - has the power to lower blood pressure, alter the breathing rate, reorganize and harmonize molecular structure, elevate mood, take us beyond the everyday world to the spiritual world, transform consciouness and ultimately liberate our spirit.

"Without music, life would be a mistake." - Nietzsche

Some music will actually diss-arrange or de-range the embodiement, and there have been studies done by Dorothy Retallack on plants to prove this. Dorothy placed three groups of plants in glass enclosures, and played various types of music to the plants for a period of 30 days. The first group of plants were played acid rock music, and actually leaned away from the speakers in an attempt to get away from the sounds, becoming disheveled, with stunted growth. The second group of plants listened to Bach and similar music, and experienced better than normal growth. The third group was played devotional music, and leaned towards the speakers, twining around the speaker wires to get closer to the sound. They had the most luxurious growth and most organized coherant patterns of all. Dorothy's comment on the experiment, in regards to the first group of plants: "If this is what this music does to plants, what is it doing to our children?"

There is a report of doctors in the south of France who prescribe specific pieces of music to be listened to three times a day in place of medicine. There are reports of cows yielding more milk when played classical music in the barn. Higher consciousness music enhances life affirming decisions and results. Lower vibration music can direct the listener towards negative destructive thoughts and sometimes even suicide.

" A tone is a living cell... It is a microcosom reflecting faithfully the macrocosom, its laws, its center. A tone is a solar system." - Dane Rudyar

Music holds the key to remembering our origin and reconnecting with source. Our spirit, regardless of nationality, creed, time or space recognizes sound as the doorway to the infinite. Hence, music is the universal language.

"Sound is God - Nada Brahma"

Dis-ease, dis-harmony within the cells, is ultimately spiritual in nature. The separated self, feeling separate from Source, begins creating dis-ease-ment from this feeling of separateness. Certain kinds of music can help one remember that connection with Source, and the listener can only go as high, as deep and as wide as the composer went when receiving and composing the music.

"Through music, one can reach God." Ravi Shankar

Constance, thank you for your kind words. Over the last couple days i have been thinking about what is going on here. And something that might be helpful is for this group, or some members of it, to first define "healing music" in scientific terms, and then create a group on AOAND for those who are writing or performing this type of music. This would make it easier for those who are seeking to create a paradigm shift while using this modality to locate musicians who are involved.

Creating a scientific definition for healing music seems to involve what is known as the Solfeggio Scale. I want to look more into this and hope others will as well. More later.

Most eloquent Mary Rose...If your offerings here at AOAND are anything like your book is to be, it's sure to be a great read!
Indeed we are in a profound shift of the ages, and we must have made sure we incarnated at this time in order to be part of such unprecedented change. Earth is being rebirthed as a New Earth, consciousness is opening and shifting exponentially, change is occurring with unparalleled speed, old patterns are dissolving while major shifts in our assemblage point take place deep within . What an awesome time to be alive on this beautiful planet! I celebrate your work and I celebrate the ever-growing tribe here now helping to make the shift.
God Goddess bless...

Just wanted to add to this, that i just received initial funding to create Future Dawning Enterprises which is an organization designed as an incubator for new trend-setting enterprises which have the potential to create mega paradigm shifts as we move into this new level of conscious awareness.

The Hearts of Fire Project is the first one we will unfold. The next one will be the Coherent Hearts Network. This network will have to do with bringing together in a united effort different organizations who have "healing modalities" already in place. The past "normal" vision of this would be for these entities to compete against one another for market share. Our intent is to unite them in effort and reveal them as complimentary to one another.

Anyone interested in working in this "cooperative effort" is invited to join us as a volunteer. We also perceive this to be a time of "the end of money". At least as we know it today. An interesting new book just released, is "The End of Money and the Future of Civilization" by Thomas H. Greco, Jr. This book is of particular interest to those who are looking to create a lifeboat for themselves while the present monetary system goes through its death throes and a new one emerges. Another book complementary to this one is: "Your Money or Your Life" by Vicki Robbins, et al. Both highly recommended.

Constance, what we are going through at this this time is a normal "shift" of consciousness it appears. Looking back in history as some are doing, e.g., Gregg Braden. John Major Jenkins, Barbara Hand Clow, Bruce Lipton, we discover that events such as we are undergoing today are cycliar in nature and have occurred over and over again throughout history. These events, by every indication, relate to astrological events that take place in the universe as demonstrated by the Mayan Calendar. Today, we have simply reached the end of an era and are beginning a new one as yet undefined.

With regard to social systems design, the structures of the old ones are crumbling and new ones are evolving to take their place. We are moving from religious belief systems into a secular spirituality based in both human biology and a greater understanding of the workings of the universe. By conscious choice we are moving from what might be called "death-defining" systems into ones that are life-enhancing. We have only to look around at our present political system to know that it is corrupted beyond repair and something entirely new is needed to take its place. But then you have vested interests hanging on to the old for it still brings in their bread and butter.

I am currently involved with Bob Ballard, Founder of the Hearts of Fire Project which deals with homeless issues. And, we see the homeless as being the leaders into this "new age" as they having nothing to lose, whereas those of us who still derive their income from the old system, as mentioned earlier, are going to hang on for dear life -- the future is a threat to many of us.

But, as physicist David Bohm revealed, the Universe does have an implicate as well as an explicate order to it. And, it has been unfolding into this preordained order for millions of years and will continue to do so as long as it exists. So, perhaps what we need to do is to relax into this knowing and go with the flow rather than fearing and fighting it.

Our job at this time is to learn to surf on the waves of change as the new order emerges from out of the old. But, we must make no mistake, this new emergence is very deep and it is reported that more change will take place in the next few decades than has taken place in the past two thousand years or so. So the troughs and peaks of the waves of change here are going to run very deep and high.

We must do what we can to prepare ourselves for them and it appears that a return to sanity of the collective conscious/unconscious is the first order of the day. We must awaken to the potential that tomorrow holds and let the healing take place so that we may move into the future with a new born vision of health and wellness.

I am holding the field for the fullest potential to unfold in this event now in the best interests of all concerned. May we now all go about our life's mission with greater understanding of both ourselves and the unfolding universe.

with much love and appreciation to all .

Mary Rose... this is really thought provoking... You've certainly summed up in a few paragraphs the main issues we're dealing with. Koyaanisqatsi - life out of balance is world-wide and getting worse, and it's why systems are breaking down. Perhaps we need to have to have a grand dissolution of what is out of balance while we simultaneously bring in the new systems. Both the big "M's" meditation and music can help shift the field.

Your question; "if music is such a powerful healing modality, then could we possibly persuade enough musicians to begin playing healing music in order to create the needed shift in consciousness of a majority of the population?"
Well, this is thought provoking.... there are already a lot of musicians playing healing music, and the world is still in a mess! And honestly I don't know that just playing music is going to cause the shifts to occur in all the many areas of life that are out of balance. It certainly can help to shift the morphogenetic field on a frequency level, but what about all the systems that are such a mess? They all need to be attended to specifically, and it's a huge job and could take years, maybe even generations to get things to some sort of normality. Music works to make change, yes, but we have too big of a mess here. It seems that a multi leveled approach on several different levels would have to be considered. I wanted to respond to you, but have to get back to the business of making music, and the first thing I'm gonna do tommorrow morning is take off my shoes and walk on the grass!
best,
Constance

Constance, am glad you are part of this discussion as i know you understand transformation using music from a first-hand basis.

The psychological wording for "asleep" is "suffering from the pathology of dissociation with the add on of addiction". The dissociation is from our life support system -- for too long have we wandered off of the path of natural social systems and into the creation of artificial systems. At the beginning of our social evolution certain "grounding qualities" were inherent within the system. These qualities, considered to be feminine in nature involved such things as: natural living, community, equality, belonging, and vitality. However, as we progressed and sought to have more power in the world, we began to develop emergent and more masculine systems such as technology, social systems design and rational thinking. As we did so, these qualities tended to suppress the more feminine grounding qualities which provided us with "soul". Now as we moved forward in this state of imbalance or incoherence, we found ourselves with feelings of emptiness which we try to fill with things that have no sustenance, e.g., drugs, alcohol, cell phones, automobiles, pornography, meaning less work, etc. The way forward means bringing back into our social system those things that provided us with soul and balancing them with "appropriate technologies," "life-enhancing social systems design" and "conscious choice" in order to enter into the future in health and wellness.

But there is more, the above describes our "emotional imbalance" but we have also encountered a physical imbalance as well. Normally we are grounded to the Earth by subtle energy vibrations that enter our body through our feet and move upward anchoring themselves in the adrenal glands which rest on top of the kidneys. However, with the advent of plastic-soled shoes, the Earth's energy is unable to penetrate into the body, so we have millions of people in the modern world who are also physically dissociated from the Earth's energy. Not being in balance with the Earth affects our heart and pulse rate, as well as all other systems of the body. A recommendation is to walk barefoot on the ground for at least one hour a day in order to return the body/mind field to its natural coherence pattern.

So, while we have the majority of the population suffering from either or both physical and emotional dissociation, we also have to factor in that fully 40% of the world's illegal drug production is sold here in the U.S. with only 5% of the world's population. And, we are left with the question as to how many people in this country are left that are sane enough to make an intelligent decision. Then when you factor in the affect of incoherent musical patterns on the human psyche, this really gets bizarre.

But then, this brings me to the question of: "if music is such a powerful healing modality, then could we possibly persuade enough musicians to begin playing healing music in order to create the needed shift in consciousness of a majority of the population?

Currently both the HeartMath Institute and the Global Coherence Initiatitve, along with James Twyman, are using meditation as a modality for shifting consciousness, but what if music is a more powerful way of creating the shift?

Could we get enough musicians together playing healing music around the clock to create social transformation in the U.S.?

Another bit of knowledge here is that when an individual is in a "theta" state of mind, the subconscious mind is then more open to re-programming. And most people carry tapes from childhood that are a result of parental and early school programming (from birth to about age 6) which need to be rewritten.
